I have recently obtained some decent quality sound recording of the presentation (the second one) in September 2010. So I decided to publish it online. Enjoy!
“Every year, hundreds of travelers are trotting the globe with their cars, motorcycles, bicycles and on feet. Overlanding has become an increasingly popular way of traveling and connecting with the world. Erdem Yücel presents his solo motorcycle circumnavigation and also explains what’s significant about overlanding, how and why these people travel the way they do. It’s a 45 minute trip around the world, full of interesting photographs, videos and surprising facts that can possibly change the way you look at traveling. “

Which bike would you recommend while taking a trip like this? I’m working on this same type of thing and any tips you have would be greatly appreciated

Hi,
My name is KC Owens; I’m a college student who loves to travel! While cruising the Internet, I found your site and really enjoyed reading your posts. Personally, I think traveling is a necessary part of life as you’re exposed to all sorts of new cultures and experiences. While enjoying time abroad, I’ve found it’s crucial to fully understand the dangers that you might encounter along the way. These mishaps are part of life and certainly part of travel but it’s always a great idea to take preventive measures to help ensure your safety while abroad.
I was hoping that you would allow me to write a post for your site to share my travel safety tips with your readers? I put a lot of time and passion into my traveling and I would love to help others by offering safety advice as a result of the mistakes and triumphs I’ve had. I look forward to hearing from you!
Best,
KC Owens

Hi Mark,
That’s a tough question! It depends on a lot of things. But if I did it again, I’d definitely be more sensitive about the weight. A large front wheel and suspension travel would be great. I may even go with a single cylinder if the vibration is acceptable. I must admit that there were a few remote locations I steered away from due to my bike choice on this trip. Make sure you get enough experience with the full equipment and try to refine and eliminate it to perfection. Thanks.
